Yesterday I spent an hour working on the scale run in VL E#2. I modified Gohar Vardanyan's metronome speed practice a bit. Instead of practicing five times perfectly at each speed and then increasing by four BPM, I increased the speed by one BPM each time I played it right. Much more satisfying to add a notch with each success. When I made mistakes, I didn't slow down, I just tried again; it feels better to not "lose ground."
