Shaping nails and pot holders

Vladimir Bobri's tremolo book recommends our nails be shaped to match our fingertips (and barely visible over them when looking at your palm straight on).  I'd never tried to shape the nails to match my fingertips, but when I did this morning (especially the left side of my M) it seems to make a big difference in terms of tremolo smoothness!

As a warm-up I've been using the idea of Bobri's exercise 4 --- scales with a tremolo pattern --- with different scales and patterns.  It's great!  Warms up the right hand and the left hand, while giving me time to be very thoughtful about left hand placement and relaxation.

I've started placing thick cotton pot holders on each thigh to cushion the pressure from the guitar.  Feels great and seems to be reducing some pain I've been having in my right leg.  Probably means I'm pressing the guitar too hard to my body...
